During a friendly conversation on the first episode of The Link Up, a new show produced by Arsenal Football Club, Saka asked Tems about the artists who influenced her early music career. When she mentioned Celine Dion, Saka reacted with surprise, saying, “I don’t know who that is,” while laughing.
Tems, clearly shocked but amused, responded, “You don’t know who Celine Dion is? Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.”
Born in 2001, Saka is likely more familiar with modern Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B sounds, often listening to artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Drake. He also confirmed that he enjoys Tems’ music and that music plays an important role in his lifestyle and motivation.
Celine Dion, the Canadian superstar known for classics such as My Heart Will Go On and Because You Loved Me, dominated global music charts during the 1990s and early 2000s, years before Saka was born. She has sold more than 200 million records worldwide and remains one of the most successful music artists in history.
