Social media influencer Olawuni Oluwapelumi Abike, popularly known as Abike Shuga, has opened up on her reported disagreement with Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham.
Abike shared her side of the story in a trending video that has generated reactions across social media platforms.
According to her, the issue began during the production period of Malaika, where she noticed Toyin Abraham promoting another movie, Ada Omo Daddy, despite both films being scheduled for release around the same time.
She said she questioned the decision and was informed that such support was acceptable when there was a close relationship involved.
Abike further claimed that during the same period, her team informed her that she had been left out of a promotional package linked to another project.
She said she later reached out and indicated she was still available to participate in promotional activities, after which she shared content online based on the understanding she had.
According to the influencer, the situation later led to backlash from Toyin Abraham after the video was posted.
She alleged that she was asked to delete all promotional content related to Malaika from her social media pages and was subsequently blocked and unfollowed.
Abike also revisited her experience on the movie Ijakumo, claiming she was paid ₦50,000 for a role, only to later discover that her scenes were removed from the final production.
She alleged that she and some other creators attended the premiere without prior knowledge that their scenes had been cut.
Comparing her experience with another production, she claimed actress Funke Akindele offered more structured promotional payments ranging from hundreds of dollars.
Reacting to the claims, Toyin Abraham reportedly stated that Abike was paid ₦500,000 for Malaika and ₦50,000 for two scenes in Ijakumo.
She also explained that decisions regarding removed scenes were made by the film director.
The exchange has since sparked online debate about influencer partnerships, movie promotions, and treatment of content creators in Nollywood.
