Afrobeats megastar Wizkid has finally broken his silence after days of online tension sparked by Seun Kuti, who accused Wizkid’s fanbase, Wizkid FC, of disrespecting his late father, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuta.
What started as a fan argument has now exploded into a full-blown celebrity clash, setting social media on fire.
How the Feud Started
The drama began when Seun Kuti openly slammed Wizkid FC, accusing them of comparing Wizkid to his father, Fela, which he described as deeply disrespectful to Afrobeat history and legacy.
Although Wizkid FC denied making such comparisons, the accusation quickly went viral, dividing fans across X (Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.
For days, Wizkid stayed silent — until now.
Wizkid’s Indirect Clapback
Instead of responding immediately with words of his own, Wizkid first posted a video on his Instagram story featuring a woman speaking in Yoruba.
In the clip, the woman mocked Seun Kuti, accusing him of:
- Obsessively attacking Wizkid and his fans
- Dragging the issue for days
- Living in his father’s shadow instead of building his own legacy
The video was widely interpreted as Wizkid’s subtle but deliberate response, and fans instantly knew the singer was done keeping quiet.
Then Wizkid Dropped the Bomb
Moments later, Wizkid followed up with a direct and brutal message aimed squarely at Seun Kuti.
He wrote:
“I Big pass your papa. Wetin you won do? Fool at 40. I’m Big Wiz everyday.”
That single post immediately sent shockwaves across social media.
