IMG 9485 The NaijaWide NewsA Nigerian mini-bus driver has sparked massive reactions online after revealing that he took a loan from Opay to brand his vehicle in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The driver, whose video is now trending across social media platforms, said the decision was driven purely by passion, loyalty, and admiration for the two leaders.

“I Took a Loan Just to Brand My Bus”

Speaking in the viral clip, the driver disclosed that branding a vehicle for the leaders had been a long-standing dream, but lack of funds previously stopped him from achieving it.

According to him, borrowing money was the only way to finally make it happen.

“To brand this car, I borrowed money from Opay. That’s to tell you the love and passion I have for them,” he said.

“I even have evidence and pictures of how I borrowed the money. Years back, I wanted to brand a car for them, but I didn’t have money then.”

Why He Did It: “They Care for Ordinary People”

The driver went on to praise President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji, claiming their policies and leadership have positively impacted ordinary Nigerians.

He said leaders who care for the less privileged deserve open support.

“They care for the less privileged, for traders, for students, and many more. If someone is doing good, let us admit the person is good,” he added.

Mixed Reactions Trail Viral Video

The confession has generated heated debate online. While some Nigerians applauded the driver’s dedication and political enthusiasm, others criticised him for risking his personal finances to support political campaigns.

Many users questioned whether such sacrifices were wise, especially in the current economic climate.

Debate Over Political Loyalty and Personal Sacrifice

The viral moment has reopened conversations about how far citizens are willing to go to support political leaders they admire, and the personal costs attached to such loyalty.

As reactions continue to pour in, the video remains one of the most discussed political clips online.
