Music producer Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, has stirred controversy on social media after declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is performing better than former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The outspoken entertainer shared his views on X (Twitter), praising Tinubu’s leadership style, economic reforms, and security approach.

Samklef: “Tinubu Is Taking Decisions Others Feared To Take”

According to Samklef, President Tinubu has shown unusual boldness in tackling Nigeria’s economic challenges, insisting that many past leaders—especially Obasanjo—would not have taken such difficult national decisions.

He added that Tinubu’s willingness to make “hard but necessary choices” places him ahead of the former president in terms of governance style.

Mixed Reactions Trail His Comment

Samklef’s remarks quickly ignited heated conversations online.
While some Nigerians supported his perspective, commending Tinubu’s reforms, others sharply disagreed.

A critic wrote:
“How can you compare Obasanjo’s regime to Tinubu’s? Are you for real?”

Another user argued that the current reforms need time to yield results, saying:
“Tinubu is trying. We’re just not patient enough. Change doesn’t happen overnight.”

Some supporters praised the producer for “saying the truth that many are afraid to admit,” while others accused him of bias.

Obasanjo’s Legacy Re-Examined

Critics defending Obasanjo highlighted several achievements from his administration, including:

  • Securing Nigeria’s historic debt relief

  • Stabilising the country after the military era

  • Strengthening international relations

  • Economic reforms that shaped early 2000s Nigeria

They insisted that Obasanjo’s influence remains unmatched.

A National Debate Rekindled

Samklef’s bold statement has reopened an important national conversation about:

  • Leadership style

  • Economic direction

  • Security management

  • What Nigerians truly expect from their leaders

As reactions continue to pour in, the debate shows no signs of slowing down.
