Popular Nigerian social media activist and influencer VeryDarkMan has reacted emotionally to a viral meme about him, revealing that the reactions in the comment section brought him to tears.
Viral Apple Meme Sparks Debate
The meme, which circulated widely on social media, showed a man standing before several half-bitten apples. A social media user suggested the image symbolised how VeryDarkMan allegedly handles cases — starting multiple issues but leaving them unresolved.
The post quickly gained traction, with many users mocking the influencer and using the image to criticise his style of activism.
“I Cried Reading the Comments” — VeryDarkMan
Reacting in a video shared online, VeryDarkMan said the meme deeply affected him after he went through the comment section.
According to him, while many people laughed, mocked, and expressed hateful opinions, what stood out most was what was not said about him.
He explained that despite the criticism, no one accused him of taking money from people or stealing while handling cases.
“I saw the comments. People were laughing and mocking me. While reading them, I got emotional and even cried,” he said.
“I cried because nobody said I charged them for a case, and nobody called me a thief.”

Defends His Activism
VeryDarkMan said the viral image, though meant to ridicule him, unintentionally reflected the effort he puts into addressing multiple cases.
He stressed that even if some issues are not fully resolved, he gives attention, time, and personal resources to people who seek his help.
“At least all those apples, VeryDarkMan gave attention to them. I spent money, wrote petitions, and tried,” he added.
Mixed Reactions Online
The video has since sparked fresh reactions online. While some users sympathised with the influencer and praised his transparency, others maintained that public figures must be open to criticism.
As of the time of this report, VeryDarkMan has not indicated whether he plans to change his approach to handling public cases.
