A shocking incident has thrown Katsina State into confusion after a Customs officer identified as Assistant Superintendent Lawal Tukur was found dead inside a hotel room after reportedly lodging with three women.

The officer checked into Mujani Hotel in Katsina with two women, identified as Khadija Ali (34) and Aisha Lawal (from Ingawa LGA), before a younger lady, Hafsat Yusuf (22), joined them the following day.

According to reports, Tukur’s lifeless body was discovered in the room the next morning. Inside a waste bin were sachets of an unnamed substance, suspected to be aphrodisiacs (manpower enhancers).

The deceased was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Katsina, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival. His body was later deposited in the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Sources claim he was buried yesterday evening at Sabon Layi, next to the Police Compound, in Katsina town.

The case has sparked widespread attention after social media users confused one of the suspects, Aisha Lawal, with the popular Nollywood actress of the same name, who hails from Oyo State. The actress has since been cleared — she has no connection to the incident.

Meanwhile, health experts are suggesting that the tragic death may have resulted from a possible overdose of aphrodisiacs during the alleged group encounter.

Investigations are ongoing.
