Popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she recently underwent a drug test following months of intense online speculation and accusations that she was abusing drugs after her highly publicised separation from her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko.
In a lengthy and emotional post shared on her official Instagram page, the actress described the period as one of the most difficult seasons of her life, noting that it felt like “everything she once knew was falling apart.”
“I Took the Test for Those Who Believe in Me”
According to Regina Daniels, her decision to take the drug test was not merely to clear her name but to reassure the people who stood by her during the controversy.
“Taking this test isn’t just about clearing my name; it’s about giving a clear and confident voice to those who believe in me,” she wrote.
She firmly denied claims that she was involved with hard drugs, describing the allegations as fabricated and misleading. The actress disclosed that the only substance she had ever been associated with was ecstasy (popularly known as Molly), adding that there was a reason behind it which she intends to explain at the appropriate time.
Regina also hinted at possible legal action against individuals who spread the allegations, stating that she would pursue justice when the time is right.
Emphasis on Accountability and Personal Growth
The actress stressed that accountability, integrity, and peace of mind have become core values guiding her decisions. She explained that the last few months marked a turning point in her life, pushing her toward self-reflection and personal development.
“Integrity matters. Accountability matters. Peace of mind especially matters,” she stated.
Reflecting on the backlash, Regina Daniels noted that public opinion is often driven by projection rather than truth, adding that she chose not to allow negative narratives to define her identity.
“I Didn’t Drown — I Grew”
In her message, Regina expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and supporters for standing by her during the controversy. She credited their love and patience for helping her stay grounded and resilient.
“Everything I had ever known was drowning right in front of me. But here’s the plot twist — I didn’t drown with it,” she wrote.
She concluded by describing this chapter of her life as one of self-discovery and renewed focus, affirming that she is still standing, growing, and moving forward with purpose.
The post has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with fans and colleagues praising her openness and resilience as she enters the new year.
