The Eagles of Nigeria faces the Algeria in the quarter finals at the Stade de Marrakech, Ouahat Sidi Brahim, 8 : 50 pm Nigeria time
Both teams qualified for the round of 16 when Algeria beat DR Congo, and Nigeria trashing the Mambas of Mozambique.
Nigeria will have the semi final heartbreak they suffered in the 2019 AFCON in mind and would seek to revenge, Nigeria winger Moses Simon dismisses the revenge talks stressing that it’s a new team with just winning their main focus.
Nigeria having two of the past three best player in Africa in their ranks should send some shivers into the camp of the Algerians, but football is not played with just stars but compact displays and resolute performance as seen in the Algerian side.
The Algeria who boasts of talented players like Riyadh Mahrez who’ll be leading the team alongside other players would want to add to the number of their Continental trophies hoping to send the Eagles crashing.
The Super Eagles would however seek to rely on their firepower in attack which consists of Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen who had on field altercations in their last game to lead the attack which has made Nigeria the nation with most goals scored so far in the AFCON – 8
It promises to be a highly competitive game though, Algeria would want to keep possession but they should be wary of counter attacks from Nigeria who have fast and direct wingers in Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon who can put dangerous crosses into the opposition boxes with a very lanky Paul Onuachu of Trabzonspor who’s ready to latch onto crosses and Victor Osimhen who is also dangerous with the head
