The Ratel controversy has officially escalated — and this time, it’s no longer jokes or metaphors.

Popular crypto entrepreneur Blord, real name Linus Williams, has fired back hard at social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), issuing what many are calling a direct legal threat.

“I HAVE DIRECTED MY SAN TO ISSUE CEASE AND DESIST”

In a post shared via his verified Instagram page @mrblordofficial, Blord made his position crystal clear, stating that VDM must stop using the name “Ratel” immediately.

According to the post, Blord claims full ownership of the brand and insists that any further use requires his personal approval.

His message read in part:

“I have directed my SAN to issue cease and desist to VDM to stop using my brand name RATEL!!!

He will have to get an approval from me henceforth before using that name RATEL!”

Blord then signed off as:

“VDM SHOULD BE CAREFUL OR GO TO JAIL”

As if that wasn’t enough, Blord doubled down in his caption, issuing a chilling warning that has since gone viral:

“VDM should be careful else he will be arrested and sent to jail for using my brand name.”

That single line instantly turned the online back-and-forth into a full-blown legal showdown.

FROM METAPHOR TO COURTROOM?

This response comes just hours after VeryDarkMan boldly declared during a livestream that:

“Being the Ratel goes beyond trademark… There can only be one Ratel.”

VDM even brought a real honey badger (ratel) on camera to argue that authenticity, not paperwork, defines true ownership.

Blord’s response makes it clear:

👉 This is no longer about vibes or symbolism — it’s about law, trademarks, and enforcement.

SOCIAL MEDIA ERUPTS

As expected, Nigerians wasted no time reacting:

  • Some sided with Blord, insisting trademarks are protected by law
  • Others backed VDM, arguing that “Ratel” is now a public identity, not just a corporate brand
  • Many believe this could end in arrest, lawsuit, or settlement

One thing is certain:

The Ratel war has officially entered dangerous territory.

WHAT NEXT?

Key questions now dominating conversations online:

  • Does Blord legally own “Ratel” as a registered trademark?
  • Can VDM continue using the name as a persona or movement?
  • Will this end in court — or a public apology?

For now, all eyes are on VeryDarkMan’s next move.

⚠️ One post. One warning. One name.

And the internet is holding its breath.
