IMG 9402 The NaijaWide NewsFormer United States President Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on the Grammy Awards and its 2026 host, comedian Trevor Noah, following jokes made during the award ceremony referencing Jeffrey Epstein’s island.

The controversy erupted after Noah, while presenting at the Grammys, made a sarcastic remark linking Trump to Greenland and Epstein’s infamous private island. In his joke, Noah said the Grammy was something every artist wanted “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” before adding that Epstein’s island was gone and Trump needed “a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

Trump Fires Back on Social Media

Trump wasted no time responding. Taking to social media, he dismissed the comments as false and defamatory, describing the Grammys as “virtually unwatchable” and one of the worst award shows on television.

According to Trump, the Recording Academy and broadcaster CBS should be relieved the show no longer airs on their network, calling the ceremony “garbage” and sharply criticizing Trevor Noah’s hosting skills.

He also compared Noah unfavorably to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, suggesting both were responsible for declining ratings at major award shows.

Trump Denies Epstein Island Allegations

In a strongly worded statement, Trump categorically denied ever visiting Epstein’s island or being associated with it in any way. He insisted that Noah’s joke falsely linked him to Epstein and Bill Clinton, a claim he says has never been made against him before.

Trump stressed that he could not speak for Clinton but maintained that he had “never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” calling the statement misleading and inaccurate.

Legal Threats Loom

The former president didn’t stop at denial. He went on to issue a direct warning to Trevor Noah, saying the comedian should “get his facts straight” or face legal consequences. Trump hinted at sending his lawyers after Noah, suggesting a potential lawsuit over the remarks made during the live broadcast.

He concluded his message with a provocative jab, referencing past legal disputes involving media figures and CBS, while signaling that more drama could be on the way.

Social Media Reacts

As expected, Trump’s reaction has sparked widespread debate online, with supporters praising his response and critics accusing him of overreacting to a joke. The clash has once again placed the Grammys at the center of political and cultural controversy, just days after the event.

The Recording Academy and Trevor Noah have yet to officially respond to Trump’s statements.
