Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has issued a fresh warning to truck operators regarding the unauthorized display of its logo on vehicles not affiliated with the company—actions DIL says are causing significant embarrassment to its brand. The company noted that despite prior cautions, independent truckers continue to feature the logo, sometimes to mislead or for personal gain, and some of these trucks have been erroneously linked to incidents not involving the company.

In response, Dangote Industries is stepping up monitoring efforts in collaboration with security agencies and law enforcement, and pledges to pursue legal action against offenders.

The company also voiced alarm over the misinformation proliferating around accidents wrongly attributed to its fleet and urged both the public and the media to verify facts before circulation to avoid exploitation of such events for malicious or financial purposes.

DIL emphasized the size of its legitimate operations: one of Africa’s largest commercial fleets, with over 12,000 trucks in Nigeria (including 3,000+ operated by third-party contractors) and over 6,000 trucks active daily, supporting more than 36,000 direct and indirect jobs.
