Dr. Deji Adeleke, billionaire businessman and father of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has finally addressed the long-running paternity controversy surrounding his son, putting his weight firmly behind Davido amid renewed online debates.
Background of the Paternity Allegation
The allegation was made by an Ibadan-based woman identified as Ayo Labinjo, who claimed she had a sexual relationship with Davido during one of his visits to the city several years ago.
According to her, the alleged encounter resulted in a pregnancy, and she later gave birth to a baby girl named Anu Adeleke.
Over the years, Ayo has repeatedly accused Davido of refusing to accept responsibility for the child, a claim that has continued to resurface periodically on social media.
Renewed Appeal Sparks Fresh Debate
Just days ago, Anu — through an Instagram page believed to be managed on her behalf — publicly appealed to Davido to undergo another DNA test, stating that she wanted clarity on whether the singer was truly her biological father.
The appeal quickly went viral, reigniting conversations and dividing opinions across social media platforms.
Davido’s Position: “Five DNA Tests, All Negative”
In response to the renewed claims, Davido stated clearly that five separate DNA tests had already been conducted over time and that all results came back negative.
He maintained that he is not the father of the child and insisted that the matter had already been conclusively settled through scientific evidence.
Deji Adeleke Speaks Out
Dr. Deji Adeleke has now stepped in to address the controversy publicly, backing his son’s position and dismissing the circulating narratives as false and misleading.
According to him, the renewed drama is being fueled by social media misinformation. He specifically accused investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo of pushing and amplifying the claims online.
He stressed that science has already spoken, emphasizing that DNA results are definitive and leave no room for speculation.
According to Dr. Adeleke, the DNA evidence clearly shows that Anu is not a member of the Adeleke family, and therefore not his grandchild.
“This Matter Should Be Laid to Rest”
The Adeleke family insists that due process was followed at every stage and that the issue has been exhaustively addressed.
They maintain that dragging the matter further only fuels unnecessary controversy and emotional distress.
As discussions continue to swirl online, the family’s stance remains firm: the DNA results are final, and the issue should be put to rest once and for all.
