Panic as armed men storm Peter’s Foundation Secondary School, residents demand urgent government action

Tension has gripped the Rukubi community in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State after gunmen reportedly stormed Peter’s Foundation Secondary School and abducted several students on Thursday.

According to early reports, the attackers invaded the school while students were still in their classrooms, whisking away an unspecified number of pupils. Exact figures are yet to be confirmed as both residents and security agencies race to gather accurate information.

Chaos as Parents Rush to School

Eyewitnesses said fear instantly spread across the community, with parents rushing to the school premises in desperation, trying to identify whether their children were among those taken.

Residents described the attack as yet another painful reminder of the persistent insecurity plaguing parts of Nasarawa State.

A local eyewitness, known as D English Alhaji, also confirmed in a new update that some students were indeed abducted, intensifying the panic and uncertainty in the area.

Authorities Yet to Respond

As at the time of filing this report, security agencies have not issued an official statement regarding the abduction. Community members say families remain deeply distressed as they await clear communication and swift government intervention.

Nigerians React With Anger and Frustration

The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many Nigerians lamenting the growing trend of school abductions.

One user, @Gboye_Rave, wrote:

“The entire security system in this country is broken. It’s insane.”

Another user, @debex_guy, expressed frustration, saying:

“This is heartbreaking and completely unacceptable. Children are being taken back-to-back while those in power act like everything is normal. It’s a national disgrace.”

Similarly, @Ben_Harry7 commented:

“No be country we deh like this oo. I no sure say any country fit endure wetin Nigerians don endure.”

Calls for Stronger School Security Intensify

As families in Rukubi anxiously await updates, the tragedy has once again renewed nationwide calls for the government to implement stronger safety measures in schools across the country.
