A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing a dream prediction ahead of the Super Eagles’ crucial quarterfinal clash with Algeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

AFCON Quarterfinal Showdown

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are scheduled to face Algeria in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.

Algeria secured their place in the last eight after edging past DR Congo 1–0 in the round of 16, while Nigeria cruised into the quarterfinals with a dominant 4–0 victory over Mozambique.

Lady’s Dream Prediction

The X (formerly Twitter) user, identified as @mide4liffy, claimed she had a disturbing dream about the highly anticipated encounter.

According to her post, she saw Algeria defeating Nigeria 3–0, a result that reportedly left her in tears even within the dream.

Her post read:

“I had a dream last night, Algeria beat Nigeria 3 to Nil 💔 I cried bitterly in my dream but the score still remained the same. For bettors: Algeria 3 vs Nigeria 0.”

Mixed Reactions Online

The post quickly attracted attention, drawing mixed reactions from football fans and social media users.

  • Big Henri countered the claim, saying:
“No, it’s a false dream. I also dreamt Nigeria won by three goals. It ended 3–1 in favour of Nigeria.”
  • Chukuwu Lawrence dismissed the prediction, stating:
“Her dream was a personal spiritual encounter and has nothing to do with the outcome of a very important football match.”
  • Ade Johnson simply commented:
    “God decides everything.”
  • Samuel Etim was more critical, writing:
“Foolish revelation from an idle mind. No go treat typhoid and malaria.”

Anticipation Builds

As kickoff approaches, expectations remain high among Nigerian football fans, with many confident that the Super Eagles’ strong form and attacking display could see them overcome Algeria and advance to the semifinals.

Whether the dream proves symbolic or irrelevant, all eyes will be on Marrakech as Nigeria and Algeria battle for a place in the AFCON 2025 last four.
