Social media influencer and philanthropist King Mitchy has broken her silence on why she blocked actress Sarah Martins, addressing the controversy that arose after philanthropist Seyi Tinubu extended support to Martins’ NGO.
Sarah Martins had recently shared on Instagram how she felt embarrassed after Mitchy blocked her on social media. She recalled meeting Mitchy at Toyin Abraham’s movie premiere, where the influencer allegedly looked down at her and walked away, prompting feelings of hurt and confusion.
Responding to the claims, King Mitchy clarified that her decision to block Sarah was not related to money or personal gain. Instead, it was a conscious choice to protect her peace and self-respect.
“I’ve seen a lot of assumptions flying around, so let me address this calmly and clearly,” she said. “My decision to distance myself had nothing to do with money or anything of that sort. It was a personal decision based on peace and self-respect. I am very intentional about the kind of energy I allow around me, and I will not put myself in situations that can lead to unnecessary controversy.”
She explained further that her decision was influenced by Sarah’s connection to someone Mitchy has had longstanding issues with. “Not out of hate, but out of wisdom. I believe anyone in my position would do the same to avoid unnecessary issues,” she added.

The clarification comes amid Mitchy’s ongoing online feud with controversial activist VeryDarkMan (VDM). The conflict started after Mitchy criticized him over donations collected for his NGO, claiming they were not used for tangible projects. In turn, VDM accused her of being a political tool connected to Seyi Tinubu and questioned the authenticity of her charity work.
The feud escalated dramatically, with allegations of bullying, accusations of misconduct, and even a live video where Mitchy reportedly drank hypo amid the online harassment. Her management later announced her alleged demise, though Prime Care Hospital Abuja denied she was ever admitted or treated there, labeling the reports as misinformation.

King Mitchy emphasized that her actions toward Sarah were about setting boundaries rather than creating drama. “At the end of the day, I choose to distance myself for my own well-being. There is no hidden agenda, no controversy, just boundaries,” she concluded.
