The Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has said electricity supply has improved in many parts of Nigeria under the current administration.

Bwala made the statement during an interview on Arise Television on Thursday night, where he argued that Nigerians now experience better power supply compared to previous years.

According to him, several areas across the country have recorded noticeable progress in electricity generation and distribution.

He specifically mentioned the Federal Capital Territory, saying residents in Abuja do not face major power supply challenges, although some concerns remain over tariffs and billing.

Bwala also stated that government reforms have created a stronger legal framework that now allows states, local governments, and private investors to participate more actively in electricity generation and distribution.

He explained that the broader participation is expected to improve efficiency, increase supply, and reduce dependence on a centralised structure.

The presidential aide maintained that power availability in Nigeria today is better than what was experienced in 2015 and 2023.

His comments have since sparked reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing that supply has improved in certain locations, while others insisted that many communities still struggle with unstable electricity.

The electricity sector remains one of the most discussed issues in the country, with citizens closely monitoring reforms aimed at improving supply and reducing long standing infrastructure challenges.
