Nigerian Army Opens Applications for 29/2026 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC)

The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for the 29/2026 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) for qualified Nigerians.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Army Headquarters via its official Facebook page.

Who Can Apply

The DSSC is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who meet the required qualifications and are interested in being commissioned as officers in selected corps of the Nigerian Army.

Available Corps

Eligible applicants may apply to the following corps:

  • Nigerian Army Engineers
  • Nigerian Army Signals
  • Nigerian Army Medical Corps
  • Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
  • Nigerian Army Education Corps

Application Timeline and Process

  • Application period: January 7 to February 4, 2026
  • Mode of application: Online only
  • Application fee: Free
