The Oyo State Police Command has displayed a large collection of recovered weapons, suspected ritual items, and stolen property as part of its latest security operations across the state.

The exhibits were presented during the maiden press briefing of the new Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, held at the Command Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.

Items displayed included firearms, ammunition, stolen vehicles, motorcycle parts, and materials believed to be connected to ritual related activities.

According to the Commissioner, the recoveries followed intelligence driven operations carried out by the Command Monitoring Unit and other tactical teams across different parts of the state.

He said the operations led to the disruption of several criminal networks, including vehicle theft syndicates, armed robbery gangs, and suspected kidnapping groups.

Olugbenga also revealed that security operatives recovered food items allegedly diverted from programmes meant for government intervention.

He explained that the command’s strategy goes beyond making arrests, stressing that recovering exhibits is important for proper investigation and successful prosecution in court.

The police chief warned those involved in criminal activities to abandon such acts or face the full consequences of the law.

He added that the command will continue to strengthen intelligence gathering and work closely with communities to improve security across Oyo State.

Olugbenga also commended residents for providing useful information that helped the police achieve many of the recent breakthroughs.

He assured citizens that the command remains committed to protecting lives and property, while urging the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
