Candidates participating in the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have been advised on the correct method to check their results following the latest release by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
JAMB had earlier confirmed that results of candidates who sat for the examination on Thursday were scheduled for release on Friday night.
The board expects more than 2.2 million candidates to participate in the examination from the opening day until the conclusion of the exercise.
According to the official guideline, candidates can check their results by sending UTME RESULT or UTMERESULT in capital letters to 55019 or 66019 through SMS.
JAMB stressed that the message must be sent using the exact phone number used during registration.
The board explained that a different number, even if linked to the candidate, may not return the result.
Candidates were also advised to ensure they have at least ₦50 airtime on the registered line before sending the message.
The SMS method remains the official and recommended channel for checking scores at this stage of the result release process.
JAMB is expected to continue releasing more results in batches as the 2026 UTME exercise progresses.
