President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has responded to critics of his administration, saying those who fail to see progress under his government may need eyeglasses to improve their vision.

The President made the remark while speaking at an event held at the State House on Thursday, where he defended the direction of his administration and ongoing reforms.

Tinubu stated that his government has continued to build on the previous administration, noting that former President Muhammadu Buhari was a political ally and partner.

According to him, leadership requires confronting existing problems, correcting them, and moving forward despite challenges.

He acknowledged that the journey of governance is not easy but assured supporters that their confidence in his leadership would not be misplaced.

The President also referenced the Renewed Hope agenda, saying his administration remains focused on infrastructure, education, and economic growth.

He said those who choose not to recognise achievements in roads, youth development, and the economy would be given eyeglasses to help them see the progress.

The comments have since attracted reactions online, with supporters praising the President’s confidence while critics questioned the state of the economy and living conditions.

Tinubu’s administration has continued to defend its reform agenda amid debates over inflation, fuel prices, electricity supply, and broader economic challenges facing citizens.
